Feeding your baby
When it comes to feeding your baby, Midwife Cath suggests doing what’s right for you. To help you through the feeding process, here are a few tips to follow when feeding your baby.
1. Always respond to your baby
You can’t over feed your baby, but you definitely can underfeed your baby.
2. Find a quiet spot
Make sure you’re in a relaxed area, talk quietly to your baby and enjoy the special time you have together and the special bond you have.
3. Going out?
When going out, pack clothing, extra nappies, wipes and some bottles – just incase there are any accidents that might happen.
4. Self-care
Don’t massage your breasts as it can cause damage to the very sensitive tissue. Check regularly for any red spots that may be early mastitis.
A healthy baby gains weight every day, every week, every month and every year. SO, remember to enjoy your baby at every stage!
