Early Parenting
New parents worry about everything! Remember, if you parent your child with anxiety, they can grow up anxious. Midwife Cath shares her tips about how to help you during the early parenting stage.
1. The baby capsule
Have the baby capsule fitted by an expert and learn how to use it beforehand.
2. Leaving the hospital
Partners should arrive at the designated time to take the new mum and baby home. Mums, feed your baby prior to leaving the hospital to prevent any crying in the car on the way home. Make sure the car is cool. Ensure you have enough petrol in the car for the drive home, it’s not great if you run out of petrol either on your way to the hospital or on your way home.
3. Walking
Walking is Midwife Cath’s top tip! Getting out of the house in the morning and in the afternoon is so healthy for both you and your baby. Taking your baby out in the pram, once or twice a day can really help your anxiety and even any depression that might creep in.
4. Feeding
When it comes to feeding, simply choose what feels right for you.
5. Mindfulness
Mindfulness is helpful to keep your mind calm. If at any time you’re feeling worried, please seek medical advice.
We hope these tips help you in this new journey of early parenting with your baby! Remember to take BabyLove Nappies along with you enjoy every day with your little one!
